Project Description

More Room for Care Close to Home

Rheumatology clinic and infusion center services now have a dedicated home within Beacon Granger Hospital’s 15,000-square-foot, two-story outpatient center. The expansion adds specialized spaces for treatment, rehabilitation, and clinical support.

The first floor includes the rheumatology clinic, infusion bays, exam rooms, a pharmacy, and clinical support spaces. The second floor houses specialized outpatient rehabilitation services. The broader expansion also increased space for laboratory and cardiology services.

Building Around an Active Hospital

Cost considerations delayed the project’s start, adding pressure to an already demanding construction schedule. With Beacon Granger Hospital remaining open during construction, we needed to plan work around patient care and daily operations.

Our team coordinated closely with Beacon Health to manage construction access, deliveries, crews, and materials. Careful planning helped keep the project moving while minimizing disruption for patients, staff, and visitors.

Keeping the Schedule Moving

We reviewed the schedule and carefully sequenced critical work to recover time after the delayed start. Close coordination helped us keep construction progressing around the hospital’s operational needs. Our self-perform team completed structural steel, concrete, doors, frames and hardware, and millwork. Direct control of these trades allowed us to adjust manpower and sequencing as field conditions changed.

Team members maintained close coordination throughout construction, keeping project priorities clear and critical work moving forward. Their hands-on involvement helped the team adapt to field conditions and maintain progress toward key milestones.

Care That Is Easier to Reach

The completed Beacon Health Granger rheumatology clinic gives patients greater access to specialty care close to home. Dedicated clinical and infusion spaces support treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, autoimmune diseases, and other connective tissue disorders.

As part of the larger outpatient facility expansion, the new spaces also support specialized rehabilitation services for patients with neurological conditions, injuries, and other health needs. The completed center gives Beacon Health additional capacity while providing clinical teams with spaces designed to support coordinated patient care.
