Credit Union Construction: Two New Branches This Winter
Tonn and Blank is proud to be building two new credit union facilities simultaneously in La Porte, Indiana, a testament to our deep experience in financial institutions, our roots in the community, and our ability to deliver complex projects even in challenging winter conditions.
Currently underway are the new Grand Heritage Federal Credit Union and the La Porte Community Federal Credit Union — both advancing side by side, each with its own unique challenges, schedules, and demands.
The 3,170-square-foot Grand Heritage Federal Credit Union complemented by a 990-square-foot drive-thru canopy on a 1-acre site at Newport Landing is designed to enhance both member experience and staff efficiency, the facility will include:
- Five private offices
- A welcoming lobby with teller line
- Conference room, workroom, breakroom, and restrooms
- Three drive-up lanes with overhead VAT system and ATM
- Brick veneer and Nichiha wall panels
- EPDM roof system
- New paving, concrete curbs, sidewalks, and landscaping

Just across town, Tonn and Blank is also constructing the new La Porte Community Federal Credit Union branch, a project that requires careful coordination and precision.
This 2,500-square-foot wood-framed office and teller facility is being built on a tight, active site, while the credit union’s existing branch remains fully operational. Maintaining uninterrupted service for members while constructing a new building on the same property is a challenge few contractors can successfully navigate, especially during winter months.

Trusted Partners for Financial Institutions
From fast-paced site logistics to maintaining operations in active facilities, credit union construction demands a contractor who understands security, scheduling, and member experience. By building two credit unions simultaneously in the same community during the winter, Tonn and Blank is demonstrating the depth of its expertise and commitment to delivering with care, precision, and accountability.
Whether it’s a local credit union or a large-scale healthcare campus, we bring the same craftsmanship, urgency, and pride to every project, because the communities we build in are the communities we call home.
